About

Rossmore is a beautiful historic town locating in the Macarthur Region of New South Wales, Australia. The suburb is administrated by the Camden Council and Liverpool City Council, local government areas of Australia. Rossmore is surrounded by Bringelly, Kemps Creek, Austral, Bringelly, Leppington, Oran Park, Catherine Field and Leppington suburbs. The Postcode of Rossmore is 2557. It located 60 km south-west of Sydney CBD and 7 km north-west of Campbelltown.

Rossmore was originally known as Cabramatta after the parish of Cabramatta.. In 1856, the railway line was extended from Granville to Liverpool and a station was established at what is now the modern-day Cabramatta. There was a horse stud in the area called Rossmoor Stud which is believed to have been named after Rossmore Lodge a famous horse stud in Kildare, Ireland. To avoid confusion with the new station of Cabramatta, the old town of Cabramatta became known as Rossmore.
